- Samples are now being accepted for partial runs on the 454 sequencing platform

The Genomics Core, run by the 'NUCLEUS' team (Networking, Unification, Collaboration, Expertise, User Support), is a state of the art facility based within the Department of Genetics of the University of Leicester enabling researchers within, and outside the University, to incorporate the very latest Genomics technologies in their experiments. The facility was established with £2.4M of equipment and staff funding provided by the University and various funding agencies.

We provide support, via the very latest in high, medium, and low-throughput analytical platforms for the following applications:

- DNA/RNA Sequencing

- Gene Expression Analysis (both mRNA and microRNA)

- SNP Genotyping

- Copy Number Variation Analysis

- Methylation Analysis

- Cytogenetic Analysis

- DNA/RNA/Protein Quantification and Quality Control

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments which includes an Illumina Microarray Platform and a Roche Next Generation Sequencing Platform.

Work can be handed over to the NUCLEUS team for completion, or conducted in some form of partnership. To enable this, a support model has been devised that also involves training and laboratory hotel activities. Final data analysis is conducted by the researcher (other than raw data processing into result formatting). Contact us if further Bioinfromatics/Biostatistical support is required.

We are a non-profit academic lab. Our customers are charged on a single cost recovery basis. Pricing for our systems is provided for guidance (See Charges page). For an accurate quotation, or for additional information, please contact us:
